COOKING RESULTS ARE NOT WHAT YOU EXPECTED
The cooktop is not level.
Level the cooktop.
The pan used is not the correct type or size.
Refer to a
reliable cooktop for recommended pan type and size.
The flame size does not fit the cookware being used.
Pan
should be the same size or slightly larger than surface being used.
The flow of combustion and/or ventilation air to the cooktop is
blocked.
Remove any obstructions around knobs or burners.

THE BURNER FLAMES LIFT OFF THE PORTS, ARE YELLOW, OR ARE NOISY WHEN TURNED OFF
The burner needs cleaning.
Clean as directed in “Sealed
Surface Burners and Cooktop” section of your Use & Care Guide.
The air/gas mixture is incorrect.
Contact an authorized
Whirlpool service technician to check the air/gas mixture or see
Installation Instructions.

The burner ports may be clogged.
Clean them with a straight
pin (see “Sealed Surface Burners and Cooktop” section of your Use & Care
Guide).

A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped.
Replace the household fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
The burner is wet from being washed.
Let it dry.
The burner ports may be clogged.
Clean them with a straight
pin (see “Sealed Surface Burners and Cooktop” section of your Use & Care
Guide).

The cooktop is not wired into a live circuit with proper voltage.
Wire the cooktop into a live circuit with proper voltage. (See Installation
Instructions.)
The cooktop is not properly connected to the gas supply.
Contact an authorized Whirlpool service technician to reconnect the
cooktop to the gas supply.
A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped.
Replace the household fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
A control knob is not set correctly.
Push the control knobs
before turning them.
